Assessment and record keeping – sharing information about your child’s progress
In order to track the progress ecah child is making and record their development we use an electronic record keeping system, Evidence Me (EM). The staff, led by your child's key person, record observations; including video and photographs on the EM App on their iPads. This then creates the story of your child's progress, which is then assessed and placed onto a tracker. This will then give us information on the progress of each child across the curriculum and the next steps that need to be planned for. Some of the recorded observations will be available for you to see and comment on via the EM App which you can have on your devices and phones at home. Information will be shared with all parents when starting at Maytree. We also enjoy seeing what you have been doing at home with your children, via the EM App.
Each child also has a ‘special book’; this is where the children can see the progress they are making and comment on it. These books are available to the children in the classroom, and they can be taken home to share with wider family members. Parents/carers are welcome to add things from home, for example; comments child children have made; details of experiences you have shared; photographs or pictures. You will be invited to regular termly meetings with your Key Person to share information about your child’s learning and development. If your child has special educational needs and/or disabilities, meetings may include other people who are supporting your child.
